The Halloween Post

For weeks costumes have been worked on; ideas pulled from magazines and cook books. The excitement was at fever pitch yesterday morning and culminated in a fantastic party. The morning was spent situating the last of the decorations.

After everything was set arranged we needed a snack to get our energy up. So as our guests arrived we all congregated around the candy bar.

A little creepy reading was in order. And no Halloween is complete without some Edward Gorey.

Then we mucked it up for the camera.

Trick or treating was hilarious. Ezra kept walking up to every person he saw saying “I’m Napoleon!” In the loudest voice her could muster. Needless to say Napoleon and Marie Antoinette were quite a hit with the neighbors. Mateos ended up being a knight. Or as he told most people “an eeevvviiilll knight.” The Mr. and I were just having too much fun at this point to get many pictures.

Dinner was a simple affair.

With bloody cupcakes for dessert.

All of our guests played clue. And I got to hang out with my nephew on his first Halloween.

All in all it was a success.

I woke up this morning with the remnants of a wonderful night that needed to be cleaned away, but not before I snapped a picture for the memory.

Happy November everyone. Now bring on Thanksgiving!

Until next time.......

  2. Wow ... the costumes, decorations, food ... it's all so impressive! This is exactly how I imagine celebrating Halloween with my family --someday (right now the wee ones are a bit too wee!).
